Our program is enriched
By volunteers who really care.
They sacrifice their precious time
Which could be spent elsewhere.
Imagine buying out the time
To help someone in need.
By guiding and supporting one
Who wants to learn to read.
The common question heard today
Is, 'what's in it for me?"
The answer… many blessings
Though none monetary!
Individuals live as blind
Can't ever read a bill
Nor read a letter from one's child
Nor write one - better still.
To have one's sight restored at last!
And you'll have played a part.
Because you set aside some time,
And opened up your heart.
So if you think you're able,
If you're patient and you care.
